Insurance Massage

Insurance
Perhaps you’ve heard that AMTA offers broad liability coverage, but you're not sure what that means. We have built a robust insurance product that protects you for covered losses, giving you the advantage of knowing your association has you covered. You can put your trust in us.

At AMTA, we hope you'll never need the insurance we provide, but we want you to know we're here for you. We view professional liability insurance as an essential safety net.

To ensure good, quality coverage, AMTA has contracted with a trusted insurer to provide you with the top quality protection you need for your practice. With AMTA's insurance, you receive $2 million per occurrence/$6 million aggregate for professional liability, general liability, products coverage and personal injury.

AMTA has worked hard to provide our members with broad liability insurance coverage. We want you to thrive in your practice, and that not only means building it, but also protecting it.

Student and Graduate Members
Student members are covered with AMTA’s professional and general liability insurance for school-sponsored or sanctioned activities while a student.

Upon graduation, upgrade to Graduate Membership for extended insurance coverage.

Graduate Members qualify for the extended insurance coverage if they have:

1) graduated from their initial massage therapy training program of 500 or more in-class hours; AND

2) met applicable state or local licensing requirements. Please note that for any state or locale that requires licensure, it’s imperative that Graduate Members do not practice until their license has been obtained. Where licensure is required, successful graduation from a massage therapy training program may not be sufficient for professional liability coverage to apply.

If you have additional questions about your AMTA Professional Liability Insurance Plan, adding an additional insured, reporting a claim, or would like a copy of the insurance policy, please call our insurance administrator, Healthcare Providers Service Organization (HPSO), toll free at 1-888-253-1474.

Building your business insurance policy

Public liability insurance – if a customer is injured or their property somehow damaged because of your business, you could face a claim for hundreds or even thousands of pounds. This insurance will cover the cost of such a claim.
Why do you need public liability insurance?
Business equipment – you may need cover for the equipment you use at work, such as your massage table. This insurance will cover the cost of replacements if your equipment is damaged or stolen.
For further covers suitable for massage therapists, see the covers box on the right.
Details to look out for
Check the documents of a policy for exclusions and excess before buying. With Simply Business you can instantly see this information with each quote.
You will need employers’ liability insurance if you have any employees.
If you offer other health or beauty therapies, you should state these on the quote form to ensure you are fully covered.

massage anywhere

he best massage anywhere, bar none. You have to feel it to believe it!”

The best massage in all my world travels, is at Yoguini Spa in El Valle de Anton, Panama. Nothing else comes close, not even in Japan or China or Europe or North America. In Japan a good shiatsu massage is effective but painful. In China, the reflexology is precise and efficient. In Europe more attention is paid to the ambiance and the accessories like hot stones. But Yoguini has developed its own system that tops any other. They only charge for the first hour. They claim the average massage lasts at least an hour and a half, but for me it was well over two hours. They simply keep going until your entire body and mind are relaxed. The staff is on a mission to heal people of all their health problems (such as chronic headaches, depression or any other problem) and they even offer to teach their techniques to those that want to use them on their spouses or friends. Now that's dedication!

Yoguini Spa is definitely not the most luxurious place in the world. You will not find any gold-plated toilet seats there. There is no extravagance in the grounds or inside the spa. The building itself is rather plain. Inside you will find a minimalist design, kept immaculately clean.

While the architecture is nothing impressive, it does have the essential items to make your stay very comfortable: large custom-made beds (the smallest one is a king and the largest one is twice that size) with cotton or satin sheets, hi-speed internet, steam bath, gourmet, organic meals, and a loving and lovable staff.

Mission Statement

Rooted in Christian values of healing and stewardship, our mission is to assist people in balancing an active life and healthy living through stress reduction and achieving/maintaining pain free movement by means of quality, client centered therapeutic massage and bodywork.

The driving force behind Massage Elements, LLC is to take massage therapy to a consistently higher quality level. This is achieved with a two-pronged approach: providing the type of massage and massage environment that best serves the client needs and providing an exceptional team work environment that retains excellent, versatile therapists.

As a massage therapist for more than 13 years I was frequently frustrated by having to tailor the massage I gave based on how much the client paid. The base or membership rate was for a relaxation massage only. If a client needed other work, such as myofascial release or trigger point, they had to pay an upcharge to receive it. Other massage centers include the interview time and the time it takes to get on the table and dressed after as part of the “massage session”. When I went to form my own company I decided to create a massage center that I would want to go to: One that did not upcharge for specialty massages or the use of essential oils; One that did not expect me to know or understand every type of massage available; One, when I found a therapist I connected with, I did not have to worry about them being gone the next time I scheduled an appointment; One that I felt safe in; One that had a comforting and accepting setting. I opened Massage Elements.

Thank you for visiting and I hope we have the honor of serving you.

Getting the Right Massage Treatment

Are you experiencing back pain? Are you going through a lot of stresses lately? Have you been having headaches that seem to start from your upper back or the back of your neck? Has your back been feeling like the only relief you can get is to twist it around several times a day? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then what you may need is a good massage, like in elements massage.

Why get a massage?

A massage is now widely accepted as a form of alternative treatment. Some experts even suggest a massage to relieve problems like stress, headache, and some forms of injury. Before, a massage is perceived as a form of luxury, mainly because this type of service was not easily affordable to regular people due to the fact that there were very few therapists or spas that offer it. However, nowadays it has become more readily available to more people due to the existence of more spas that offer massage treatments.

A massage is good for stress relief especially when done in a quiet spa with a relaxing ambience and music in the background. It also helps when the treatment is done with aromatherapy like eucalyptus or lemon grass. To some, lavender scent is also a good choice. These scents are relaxing to the senses. The relaxing effect of the massage, plus aromatherapy, is a proven stress reliever to any person seeking effective relaxation means.

A massage also helps in easing muscle tensions and knots. Some specialized massages, like a sport massage, even help prevent and treat an injury. Many sports teams are known to employ massage therapists in their teams to help treat athletes’ injuries.

What type of massage should you get?

A lot of people have the misconception that when they go to a spa or see a massage therapist that they can get any massage they have heard of before. This is not true at all. This is why it is very important to talk to your therapist first before you get the massage. You can tell how you are feeling, what you’ve been doing, if you have postural problems and where you are experiencing pain so the therapist can suggest the best massage or combination that will suit your need. Oftentimes a therapist will combine several massage techniques to give the desired result.

One of the most popular choices of massage treatment is Swedish massage. This type of massage is great for relaxation and stress relief. This is also the best option for someone who is having a massage treatment for the first time. It applies the right amount of pressure to the muscles. Sometimes a therapist may combine Swedish massage with other types of massage for optimum results.
A deep tissue massage is the best treatment option for chronically painful and tight muscles. This is also good if you are experiencing repetitive muscle strain or having postural problems. A deep tissue massage is done by repetitively massaging to unloosen muscle knots and relieve pain. Since deep tissue massage targets muscle knots and not trigger points, it is also good for people recovering from injury.

A hot stone massage is a technique that originated from Asia. It is best for easing muscle tension without deep pressure. This is best for those with serious muscle injury or those who are experiencing deep muscle pain when pressure is applied to their muscles. The hot stones do the work of easing muscle tension through heat instead of pressure.

A prenatal massage is a specialized massage for expecting women. This massage is aimed at decreasing swelling that is common to pregnant women. This is also good to relieve aches and pains that pregnant women experience due to the additional weight they are carrying. Another benefit of a prenatal massage is easing the physical and emotional stresses that they experience due to physical and hormonal changes. This kind of massage needs a therapist who has a specialized training in giving a massage to a pregnant woman due to the sensitivity of the condition.

Another massage treatment that requires specialized training is sports massage. If the therapist does not have the proper training in sports massage, he/she may end up causing injury or further injury to the athlete. Another purpose of a sports massage apart from injury prevention and treatment is performance enhancement. This is why carefully choosing a therapist for this type of massage is very important.
Things to consider when getting a massage

Here are the things to consider before you get an elements massage treatment. First, make sure that the therapist is licensed or has special training, or that the spa you are going to has licensed and highly-trained therapists.

Also, it might help to check out the facility especially if you want a relaxing massage. If this is what you are after for getting a massage, it pays to have a dimly lit quiet room with a soothing background music. It is totally not relaxing if you can hear other clients or therapists in the spa chattering in the background. Neither is it relaxing if the room is brightly lit. You will find it to be a more relaxing experience when you close your eyes in a darker room over a brightly lit room.

There you have it, some points to remember if you plan to get a massage treatment for whatever type of condition you need.
